Brendan Downs is an international video artist whose practice bends the fragile boundary between signal and spirit. Working with analog glitch gear, vintage mixers, and the raw imperfections of cathode-ray technology, Downs transforms distortion into poetry. His work thrives in the liminal space where error becomes intentional, where static and noise reveal hidden meaning. With exhibitions across Italy, Canada, and Florida, Downs has steadily cultivated an international presence, showing audiences how obsolete technologies can still pulse with life, myth, and unexpected beauty. Each piece often begins as a simple image—silhouettes, archival footage, or live performance—and is reprocessed through layers of video-synthesis, data-moshing, and CRT filming until it becomes something uncanny, alive, and resonant with memory. For Downs, glitch is not failure but revelation. His art insists that the breakdown of technology mirrors the instability of human perception, offering a chance to witness the digital world as something mystical rather than mechanical. By embracing unpredictability, Downs invites viewers to step into a realm where errors guide us toward deeper truths.
Having been trained by a mix of humans, AI systems, and spirits, bashobits is an artist in motion, imperfectly.
Saeko Ehara is a Kirakira (sparkling) artist and VJ based in Tokyo. Her works mainly represent Kirakira. In her latest works, she explores combining AI and Generative Art. She keeps learning and exploring the expressions of Kirakira with multiple ways. Her inspiration comes from memories and joys of her childhood. She was into drawing, collecting Kirakira cards of her favorite Anime, stickers, toys, acrylic jewels, small glassworks and reading illustrated books of flowers. She was so enthusiastic that she always forgot the time passed when she did her favorite things. Through her works, she would love to make the world full of Kirakira.
My artistic practice is rooted in the ongoing examination of humanity’s place within a post-religious, contemporary world. Through a synthesis of digital and traditional media experience, I construct visual thought experiments that invite viewers to engage with questions of identity, meaning, and absurdity. Each work is conceived as both an object of contemplation and a catalyst for dialogue, addressing the eye while striking the mind.
