Overview

We are calling for submissions of short films to be screened at NEORT++ in collaboration with "MOTION GRAPHIC CREATORS".
NEORT++ has primarily showcased video works that lack a clear beginning or end—pieces that quietly exist in space like paintings. However, this time, our focus is on short films with a "beginning" and an "end." These are narrative-driven works with a temporal flow, inviting viewers to sit down and fully engage with them.
Such formats—films, animations, and YouTube videos—are deeply integrated into our daily lives, yet we feel the need to re-explore short films as an art form.
This initiative aims to reconsider the diversity of video as a medium and expand our perspectives on the experience of viewing. From ambient videos that drift in space to time-bound works that reach a conclusion, NEORT++ seeks to explore new dimensions of video art.

About MOTION GRAPHIC CREATORS

『MOTION GRAPHIC CREATORS』is an annual publication launched in 2005 that introduces Japanese video creators. Each year, 100 outstanding artists are selected, with profiles, contact info, and featured works published in both Japanese and English.
It has served as a platform for introducing Japanese artists to international audiences and has been popular among not only industry professionals like clients and agencies, but also young aspiring creators and those interested in emerging visual expressions.
In 2018, the platform transitioned online to better adapt to the rapidly evolving creative environment of the video industry, offering more timely and diverse content. It continues to recognize outstanding creators each year and remains committed to archiving exceptional works and showcasing the possibilities of new expressions.
